On Jan. 15th 2022, the "Wonderful Winter Olympics" theme flower bed was assembled and unveiled in Tiananmen Square. The top of the flower bed is 17 meters high, with a Chinese knot as the main scene, combined with the Beijing Winter Olympics emblem and elements of ice and snow, to convey good wishes for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The bottom of the flower bed is 38.6 meters in diameter, surrounded by five rings and embedded with a snowflake pattern, which means that the five continents celebrate the Winter Olympics together and can withstand a 12-level wind. It is reported that during the Winter Paralympics, the Beijing Winter Olympics emblem in the Flowerbed Center will be replaced with the Beijing Winter Paralympic emblem.
Why take "Chinese knot" as the main scene?
The Chinese knot is a traditional shape familiar to the common people, which means reunion and unity, and symbolizes the people all over the world working together to create a better future. The emblem of the Winter Olympics embodies the elements of the Winter Olympics, while the snowflakes represent the elements of ice and snow, implying that the five continents congratulate the Winter Olympics and welcome the Winter Olympics.
The red Chinese knot is set up in Tiananmen Square, which echoes the Tiananmen Gate Tower and harmonizes with the surrounding environment, perfectly combining the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival with the Winter Olympics.
