Double suction pumps are widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, electric power metallurgy, mining, ship selection, light industry, agriculture, civil and defense sectors, and play an important role in the national economy.

Pump Structure:

Single stage double suction centrifugal pump body is horizontally divided spiral volute, two half-spiral suction chamber and pump shell connecting together for the open structure. The pump shaft is placed horizontally, the two sides of the shaft are supported in the bearing housing with bearings, and the double-suction impeller is arranged in the middle of the pump shaft. The suction and discharge of the pump are respectively arranged on both sides of the lower half of the pump casing. The horizontal direction and the axis are in a vertical position and the pump shell is open type. Both sides of the pump body and impeller are equipped with sealing rings, axial seal device for packing seal ( sometimes using mechanical seal), symmetrical layout in the two sides of the pump body. Two water seal pipes are arranged on the pump for introducing pressure water into the stuffing box for water sealing, cooling and lubrication. The axial force can be automatically balanced. There is no need to set up axial force balancing device. The motor is anticlockwise direction viewed from the coupling toward the pump. It can be changed to clockwise rotation according to the user's special needs.

Working Principle:

The main working part of double suction pump is the impeller, its blade installed in the spiral casing of the pump shaft. Before pump operation, the pump body is filled with the liquid to be delivered; after pump starts, the impeller rotates at high-speed, the liquid filled in the blades will be with the rotation. Under the action of centrifugal force, the liquid will be throwing from the center of the impeller with high-speed, shot around, flow to the outlet pipe. When the liquid is separated to the impeller from the center of the Impeller, a certain vacuum is formed in the impeller center. Because of the atmospheric pressure on the surface, the liquid is pressed into the impeller continuously through the suction pipe.
