Slurry Pump Spare Parts

Slurry Pump Parts

A slurry pump is consisted of different parts, including impeller, volute, bearing assembly, throat bush and other parts. Among the various components of a slurry pump, the impeller holds a position of paramount importance. A slurry pump impeller is a rotating component that converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy to move abrasive fluids through a pump, which accelerates fluid outward from the center of rotation. This centrifugal force comes into being when the impeller rotates at a specific, requisite speed.

Slurry Pump impeller

Slurry volute Liner is a curved funnel increasing in area to the discharge port. Its inlet volute helps direct the liquid and particles into the impeller, and make them move through the discharge pipeline. It is also one of wetted parts for slurry pumps. It forms a pump chamber with throat bush and frame plate liner insert and so slurry will wash them, Our volute is made of high-quality wear-resistant cast iron, which has excellent compressive strength and corrosion resistance, and can effectively deal with the scouring and corrosion of slurry.

Slurry volute

To maintain the integrity of the slurry pump's operation and prevent any untoward leakage of the pumped liquid, the shaft seal and bearing housing play a pivotal role. The shaft and bearing assembly of the slurry pump provides solid support for the high-speed rotation of the impeller, ensuring the smooth operation of the pump. The pump shaft is made of high-strength alloy steel, and after quenching and tempering heat treatment, it has good comprehensive mechanical properties, can withstand large torque and bending moment, and effectively resist various stresses during the operation of the slurry pump.

Selection principles for slurry pump spare parts

1. Wear resistance: The working environment of slurry pump is harsh, so materials with good wear resistance should be selected, such as high chromium cast iron, wear-resistant alloy steel, etc.

2. Corrosion resistance: For highly corrosive media, materials with good corrosion resistance should be selected, such as stainless steel, engineering plastics, etc.

3. Adaptability: When selecting accessories, the working conditions of the pump, such as speed, flow, head, etc., should be considered to ensure that the accessories match the working requirements of the pump.

4. Reliability: The reliability of accessories is crucial for the long-term stable operation of high-profile pumps. Products that have been strictly inspected and certified should be selected to ensure the reliable quality of accessories.

5. Economic efficiency: Under the premise of meeting the use requirements, accessories with high cost performance should be selected as much as possible to reduce the operating cost of the equipment.

Maintenance method of slurry pump spare parts

1. Replace seals: Slurry pumps often have seals that are worn or aged. If they are not replaced in time, it will cause problems such as pump leakage. When replacing seals, choose the appropriate seal material and specifications for correct installation.

2. Replace the sleeve: The sleeve is one of the key components of the slurry pump. If the sleeve is severely damaged, it will affect the working efficiency and service life of the pump. Before replacing the sleeve, check the bearing and shaft to confirm whether they need to be replaced together.

3. Clean the pump cavity: After the slurry pump is used for a long time, some solid particles and sediments will adhere to the inner wall of the pump cavity, which will affect the working efficiency and service life of the pump. Therefore, it is very necessary to clean the inside of the pump cavity regularly. Cleaning agents and high-pressure water guns can be used for cleaning.

4. Replace the impeller: If the impeller of the slurry pump is severely worn, it will affect the working efficiency and service life of the pump. At this time, a new impeller needs to be replaced. Before replacing the impeller, check whether the conveying pipeline is blocked by foreign objects, otherwise the new impeller will also be worn.

5. Lubrication and maintenance: Lubrication and maintenance of slurry pumps are very important and can extend the service life of the pump. Attention should be paid to regularly replacing lubricating oil and lubricating the pump body, bearings and other parts.

The above are several common slurry pump maintenance methods. It is necessary to choose appropriate methods for maintenance according to the specific situation. Before any maintenance, the power supply should be cut off or the valve should be closed to ensure personal safety.
