If your home is equipped with a sump pump it is usually located in one corner of your basement.
We recommend that you replace your sump pump every seven (7) years. This assumes your home is equipped with a Submersible Sump Pump. Pedestal Pumps often last much longer.
We only install quality pumps. The pump will be a submersible cast iron pump (unless the homeowner requests a composite pump, or pedestal pump), and a mechanical float switch. The Horsepower of the pump will depend on the installation, but will usually be 1/2 or 3/4 horsepower. Every installation will include a new check valve.
Yes, but we recommend the Sump Alarm 8266, and a cheap portable generator to power your sump pump (or other generator backup system).
No. We do not recommend them. You will see why when you get your water bill. Depending on the manufacturer, these pumps will use one gallon of clean water for approximately every three gallons of sump water pumped out. You are better off with Sump Alarm 8266, and a cheap portable generator to power your sump pump (or other generator backup system).
It is our little secret, but the Sump Alarm 8266 hardware is only one component of the alarm system. This is why it is called an IoT device.
About as loud as a security system's alarm.
When the power or internet is down, or a high water condition exists, it will send messages three times in about a fifteen minute period of time, then it stops. It will also stop sending messages when the alarm condition is corrected.
It is a visual representation of the alarm status of the system. You will also be able to confirm for yourself that the alarm system is working.
Yes. But you will have to be home to know that there is a high water condition. If you later change your mind you can upgrade the firmware to add the text notifications. We can either come to the house and do it for the cost of a service call, or you can unplug the main board from the device and mail it to us with return postage and we will upgrade the firmware for free, plus $4.99 a month, for the new service.
Yes. The service is month to month and requires only 30 days notice to cancel. If you cancel the service, however, your alarm will need to have it's firmware downgraded because it will constantly try to connect to wifi and will reboot every couple of minutes. The downgraded firmware allows the alarm to function in audible alarm mode only. We can come to the house and do it for the cost of a service call, or you can unplug the main board from the device and mail it to us with return postage and we will downgrade the firmware for free.
