Slurry pump faults and solutions
1.Fault
The pump does not absorb water
Cause of occurrence
Suction pipe or packing leakage, wrong steering or impeller damage, suction pipe blockage
Terms of settlement
Block the leaking part
Check the steering direction and replace the impeller with a new one
Remove the blockage
2.Fault
Excessive shaft power
Cause of occurrence
The packing gland is too tight, the packing is hot, the packing gland bolts are loose, friction occurs in the pump, the bearing is damaged, the driving device belt is too tight, the pump flow is too large, the speed is too high, the ratio is large, the motor shaft and the pump shaft are not aligned or parallel
Terms of settlement
Eliminate friction, replace bearings, adjust belt, adjust pump operating conditions, adjust speed, adjust motor shaft and pump shaft
3.Fault
Bearing Overheating
Cause of occurrence
Too much or too little bearing grease
Impurities in grease
Bearing damage
Terms of settlement
Add grease properly
Replace the grease
Replace the bearing
4.Fault
Short bearing life
Cause of occurrence
The motor shaft and pump shaft are not aligned or parallel
Shaft bending
There is friction in the system or the impeller is out of balance
Foreign matter or grease is put into the bearing
Improper quantity
Unreasonable bearing assembly
Terms of settlement
Adjust motor shaft and pump shaft
Change the shaft
Eliminate friction and replace impeller
Clean the bearing
Replace or reassemble the bearing
5.Fault
Serious leakage at packing
Cause of occurrence
The packing is seriously worn
The sealing water is not clean
Serious wear of shaft sleeve
Terms of settlement
Replace the packing
Change and clean sealing water
Change shaft sleeve
6.Fault
Pump vibration, noise
Cause of occurrence
Bearing damage
Impeller unbalance
Air intake of suction pipe is blocked
The flow is uneven and the pump is evacuated
Terms of settlement
Replace the bearing
Replace impeller
Eliminate the air intake and remove the blockage
Improve pump feed condition
