Maintenance Method of Water Pump Bearing
For first put into use pumps, the grease (oil) must be replaced after 100 hours of operation, and once every 500 hours of operation thereafter.
For fluid bearings lubricated with grease, the grease should be replaced after 1500 hours of operation, and the amount of lubrication should generally be controlled at 1/2 to 2/3 of the volume of the bearing chamber.
For bearings lubricated with lubricating oil, the amount of oil should be added to the specified position.
Containers of lubricating oil or grease should be clean and sealed at ordinary times. There should be no dust, iron filings and other debris to avoid damage to the bearing.
Motor bearings generally use sodium-based grease. This grease is characterized by high temperature resistance (125°C), but is easily dissolved in water, so it cannot be used for the lubrication of water pump bearings.
