First, the reasons that affect the working life of the slurry pump:
1. The hydraulic design
2. The condition of the wear parts
3. Slurries concentration
4. Pump material
The main factors causing the low efficiency of the slurry pump unit are the following:
1. The efficiency of the slurry pump itself is a fundamental influence. Under the same working conditions, the efficiency of the pump may differ by more than 15%.
2. The operating conditions of the slurry pump are lower than the rated operating conditions of the pump, with low pump efficiency and high energy consumption.
3. The efficiency of the motor remains basically unchanged during operation. Therefore, it is important to choose a high-efficiency motor.
4. The effect of mechanical efficiency is mainly related to design and manufacturing quality. After the pump is selected, the impact of later management is small.
5. Hydraulic loss includes hydraulic friction and local resistance loss. After the pump has been running for a certain period of time, it is inevitable that the surface of the impeller and guide vanes will wear out, the hydraulic loss will increase, and the hydraulic efficiency will decrease.
6. The volume loss of the slurry pump, also known as leakage loss, includes three types of leakage loss: impeller seal ring, interstage, and axial force balance mechanism. The level of volumetric efficiency is not only related to design and manufacturing, but also related to later management. After the pump runs continuously for a certain period of time, due to friction between the components, the gap increases and the volumetric efficiency decreases.
7. The slurry pump is evacuated and idling due to clogged filter cylinders and pipeline air intake.
8. Before the slurry pump is started, employees do not pay attention to the preparation work before the slurry pump is started. The basic operating rules such as warm pump, disc pump, and filling pump are not thoroughly implemented, often causing cavitation of the slurry pump, causing pump noise, vibration and slurry pump efficiency.

1. Replace inefficient slurry pump.
During the replacement, the slurry pump that is close to the actual operating conditions is selected to ensure that the replaced pump always runs in a high-efficiency state. We did a comparison experiment of the efficiency of the slurry pump before and after replacement. The experiment showed that after replacing the inefficient and high consumption slurry pump, the pump efficiency can be improved by about 10%.
2. Application of frequency conversion energy saving technology. For the slurry pump whose design parameters are greater than the actual operating conditions, after installing the frequency conversion speed regulation device, it will always operate in the high-efficiency area.
3. Promote the application of new energy-saving products such as high-efficiency and energy-saving speed regulating motors and dual-power motors on the main slurry pumps.
4. Slurry pump selection. When choosing a new pump, you should choose a pump produced by a large manufacturer to ensure high efficiency of the slurry pump.
5. Slurry pump maintenance.
(1) Always check and adjust the shaft seal of the slurry pump to reduce the volume loss;
(2) After the cumulative operation of the slurry pump for 10,000 hours, it should be overhauled to restore the pump efficiency;
(3) Promote the application of bellows sealing technology to the slurry pump to completely eliminate the leakage of the slurry pump and improve the volumetric efficiency.
6. Regularly clean the filter cylinder and check the pipeline connection to ensure that the slurry pump inlet line is unobstructed.
7. Strictly follow the operation rules of the slurry pump. Before starting the pump, perform the disc pump, open the inlet valve, close the outlet valve, vent the exhaust, and check whether the inlet pressure of the pump meets the requirements. To prevent pump cavitation caused by low supply pressure and insufficient flow.
8. Regularly check the pump efficiency of the slurry pump. For pump units with low pump efficiency, find out the reasons in time and take corresponding measures to solve them.
