Centrifugal Sand Slurry Pump is a special type of pump able to handle slurry. Unlike water pumps, sand slurry pumps are subject to wear and are more robust and heavy duty.
Sand slurry pumps which can deliver high capacity with limited head are mostly used in pumping slurry through pipelines at concentrations below 70% solids by weight.

How do you use a centrifugal sand slurry pump?
1.    Find the sweet spot that allows the pump to run as slow as possible (to reduce wear), but fast enough to keep solids from settling and clogging the lines.
2.    To reduce wear, lower the pump's discharge pressure to the lowest point possible.
3.    Follow proper piping principles to ensure a constant and uniform delivery of the slurry to the pump

Centrifugal sand slurry pumps are used successfully for such a challenging task as evacuation of pulp (mixture of soil and water) in mining operations and extraction of minerals. The difficulty of handling such media is that the equipment and tools contacting the fluid are exposed to excessive abrasive wear.
